Front Pulley Question

Hey all,

Here's a strange one. I've been doing my usual winter cleanup and maintenance, and when I took the engine pulley cover off I noticed that the engine pulley was slightly "loose," it can "wobble" about 1/64". The nut is tight, the splined washer is bent against the nut flat, but when I hold the pulley I can wiggle it, just a slight bit. I can feel the pulley and washer move, but not the output shaft so the shaft seems tight and true.

My first impression was that somehow the nut had loosened, but I don't see how since the washer is a splined fit on the output shaft, and the bent portion is still against the flat on the nut just like it was when new. I think now that maybe the output shaft is shouldered, and when the nut is tightened and the washer is bent against it the pulley can still move just slightly so the belt can "seat" itself better when going around it.
Any ideas on this, and could somebody check their front pulley to see if it's just barely loose?

Thanks !!

Tim
